Vigilant Patrol Team of PS Nihal Vihar Nabs Notorious Autolifter With Weapon and Stolen Motorcycle

Delhi — The patrol team of Police Station Nihal Vihar achieved a significant breakthrough in curbing street crime after arresting a notorious autolifter and recovering a button-actuated knife along with a stolen motorcycle. The accused, identified as Mukul Chawla, a 25-year-old resident of Ramesh Nagar, Delhi, is previously involved in five other criminal cases.

This arrest is a result of intensified patrolling measures and proactive policing being implemented under the directives of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, aimed at bolstering public safety and maintaining law and order in the area.

Incident Overview:

On June 10, 2025, during a routine patrol near Nala Road, Veer Bazar Road, Chander Vihar, alert officers Head Constables Salender and Jagpal noticed an individual riding a motorcycle in a suspicious and erratic manner. Upon being signaled to stop, the rider attempted to flee but was swiftly chased down and apprehended.

During questioning, the suspect identified himself as Mukul. A cursory search led to the recovery of a button-actuated knife from his possession. He failed to provide valid documentation for the motorcycle, which was subsequently confirmed via ZIPNET as a stolen vehicle related to e-FIR No. 010118/2025 dated 11.04.2025 under Section 305(b) BNS, registered at PS Nihal Vihar.

Following the discovery, a new case was registered under FIR No. 422/2025 at PS Nihal Vihar under Section 25 of the Arms Act.
