Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Department, in collaboration with the State Museum, Lucknow, hosted a vibrant and creative children’s program titled “Draw, Paint and Play – Coaster Art All Day” as part of its ongoing initiative ‘Khushiyon Ki Pathshala’ (Happy Hours). The event saw enthusiastic participation from 35 children aged between 4 to 14 years, who brought wooden canvases to life with colorful coaster art inspired by themes of nature and heritage.
Young participants, including students from Mukti Foundation and other local schools, used brushes and paints to craft beautiful representations of fish, flowers, birds, homes, the planet Earth, environmental conservation, and peacocks on circular coasters. The creative exercise aimed to nurture children’s aesthetic sensitivity, intellectual growth, and artistic expression through playful learning, while also fostering awareness about the cultural and artistic heritage preserved in the museum.
The event was designed to introduce children to the museum’s rich collection of artefacts, helping them build a connection with cultural history in an engaging and imaginative manner.
At the end of the session, Dr. Srishti Dhawan, Director, State Museum Lucknow, distributed certificates to all participants, encouraging their artistic pursuits and boosting their confidence.
