LUCKNOW: To mark the golden jubilee of the Horticulture Department, Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh hoisted a 125-foot flag at the Horticulture Directorate.
The Department of Horticulture and Food Processing is celebrating 50 successful years of development and innovation. To commemorate this historic occasion, a special ceremony is being held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.
The ceremony will showcase the department’s achievements and developmental journey over the past five decades. Fifty retired officials and employees, along with 50 progressive horticulturists, who have made significant contributions to the department’s growth, will be honored at the event.
The Horticulture Department has played a vital role in increasing farmers’ income, improving production quality, and promoting technological innovation. The department has achieved notable successes in the fields of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and medicinal crops.
Through its various schemes and programs, the department has not only helped farmers increase production but has also ensured direct market access for their produce. Schemes focused on the processing, storage, and marketing of diverse horticultural crops have significantly contributed to farmers receiving fair prices for their produce.
Through this event, the department will express its gratitude to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of horticulture. Retired officials and employees, as well as innovative and progressive horticulturists, will be felicitated to inspire the new generation.
Experts will engage in detailed discussions on new technologies and innovations at the ‘Horticultural Advancement Symposium’. Technical sessions will be organized for farmers and horticulturists. Information on the Food Processing Industry Policy and the Prime Minister’s Micro Food Industry Upgradation Scheme will also be provided to the participants during the symposium.
