Gaurav Kumar Takes Charge as Lucknow Municipal Commissioner

Lucknow: Gaurav Kumar, a 2018 batch IAS officer, has officially assumed charge as the new Municipal Commissioner of Lucknow, succeeding Indrajit Singh. He also takes on the role of CEO, Lucknow Smart City Limited. A mechanical engineering graduate from Chandigarh, Kumar has held key administrative positions and is known for effective governance.

Outlining his vision, Kumar highlighted five key priorities: enhancing cleanliness through improved solid waste management and citizen participation; implementing transparent tax reforms with digital payment systems; finding lasting solutions to waterlogging via drain mapping and maintenance; ensuring a responsive public grievance system; and promoting inclusive development by engaging citizens, officials, and social groups.

Committed to creating a sensitive and accountable civic system, he emphasized citizen-centric governance. Field visits across city wards will soon begin for ground-level assessment. His leadership is expected to drive positive change in urban infrastructure and public services across Lucknow.
