Lucknow : Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Backward Classes, Rajesh Verma, conducted a public hearing at the Commission’s office in Indira Bhavan, Lucknow, on Thursday. A total of 28 complaints and representations from various districts were reviewed during the session. The Commission took swift and effective action, issuing necessary directives to concerned officials for immediate resolution.
In the matter of Kunwar Sudhakar Singh vs. Superintendent of Police, Barabanki and Settlement Officer, Barabanki, it was revealed that a forged settlement agreement was created using fake signatures in a land dispute case. Following the filing of an FIR by the complainant, the Commission instructed officials to carry out a forensic examination of the disputed signatures and submit a detailed report.
In another case, related to Ruchi Devi vs. Superintendent of Police, Lakhimpur Kheri, Chairman Verma expressed displeasure over the absence of the concerned officer during the hearing. He directed that the investigating officer be replaced to ensure a fair probe and that a fresh investigation be conducted and the report submitted promptly.
In the case of Monni, pertaining to the pending reimbursement of medical expenses for the wife and daughter of former Food Safety Officer of Barabanki, Mr. Arvind Singh, the Commission’s intervention led to the release of ₹1,12,004. Officials were also instructed to identify the officer responsible for the delay and submit an accountability report to the Commission.

In a pension-related matter of Pushpa Devi vs. Senior Treasury Officer, Sitapur, the Commission’s involvement ensured the disbursal of an additional pension amount of ₹93,546 to an 80-year-old beneficiary, who was entitled to the sum after crossing the specified age threshold.
In the case submitted by Dr. Satyendra Singh, concerning delay in promotion, a hearing was conducted in the presence of the Special Secretary (Technical Education), Director of IIT, and Registrar of AKTU. The Commission directed all parties to hold a joint meeting and expedite the resolution of the pending case.
Following the hearing, Chairman Rajesh Verma reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to delivering timely justice to members of the backward classes. He emphasized that any negligence or insensitivity at any level would not be tolerated.
