Bareilly: World Photography Day was celebrated at Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI). Students participated by clicking photographs on the theme “Capturing the colours of life”. In this competition, Rishabh Jangir, a student of 2nd year of BVSc & AH, got first position, Poornima Dwivedi of the same batch got second position and Rishikesh Gudge, a student of 2nd year of MVSc got third position.
The students captured a wide range of subjects from the vibrant colours of the fauna to the changing colours of the lush green scenery of the IVRI campus. Their photographs highlighted colourful flowers, abstract creativity related to light and clouds, rays of hope piercing the darkness, as well as the enthusiasm, happiness and colours of the daily life of common people. 16 best photographs were selected for display and ranking.
The jury comprised Dr. S.K. Saha as the Chairman. and Dr. Suman Talukdar, Dr. Anju Kala and Dr. Anisha as members evaluated the photographs taken by the participants. All the jury and audience appreciated the excellent work done by the students of IVRI.
On this occasion, Member Secretary Dr. Asit Das informed the students about the origin of “World Photography Day” and how developing photography as a hobby can be beneficial. Dr. S.K. Saha also highlighted how photography can reduce stress and the potential of photography as a career option and development of young talents.
Dr. Kiran Shinde, General Secretary, IVRI Students Council appreciated the students and Student Welfare Officer for organizing such a wonderful event.
Dr. Suman Talukdar appreciated the wonderful work done by the students and advised them to learn more about the technical aspects of photography.
Dr. Anju congratulated all the students and urged them to learn more about the subject ratio and use of light. Dr. Anisha also praised the students and encouraged them to participate in other extracurricular activities like yoga, dancing, singing, poetry, painting and others.
