Lucknow: The 79th Inter-Martinere Meet commenced in grand style, carrying forward a glorious tradition that dates back to 1945.
La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow took on La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata in an electrifying basketball match. The occasion was graced by distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Satyam Shankar Sahai, an entrepreneur and sportsman, Founder and Chairman of Possible Education, whose presence added inspiration and excitement to the event.
From the very first whistle, the court erupted with energy. Our Lucknow girls displayed remarkable determination, skill and teamwork as they fought for every possession and refused to back down. Every move was met with roaring cheers from the stands as the team turned the court into a showcase of courage, confidence, and competitive spirit.
The contest remained fiercely fought till the final whistle, with both teams giving their absolute best. Team Lucknow finished with a hard-fought score of 34-38 against Kolkata. Subrata Singh of Lucknow was named the Best Player of the Match.
The day concluded with words of appreciation from the Chief Guest, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Lady Principal of the College, Mrs. A. Das.
The scoreboard may have favoured Kolkata, but Lucknow won hearts with its fearless performance, indomitable spirit, grit and grace.
