Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified preparations for seamless connectivity to the upcoming Jewar International Airport, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directing officials to ensure robust public transport arrangements before flight operations begin. In the initial phase, 110 electric buses will be deployed to facilitate smooth and eco-friendly transportation for passengers travelling to and from the airport.
The directions were issued during the fourth meeting of the State Transformation Commission chaired by the Chief Minister in Lucknow. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of major infrastructure, industrial, and urban development projects across the state, including expressways, EV charging infrastructure, logistics hubs, defense corridor projects, and agricultural export initiatives.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that preparations are underway to operate nearly 500 electric buses across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. The Chief Minister stressed that all transport arrangements must be fully operational before the proposed commencement of airport flights from June 15.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s push toward sustainable mobility, officials stated that approximately 15.5 lakh electric vehicles are currently registered in the state. The government has set a target of establishing 10,000 EV charging stations by 2030, while nearly 2,500 charging stations have already become operational.
The Chief Minister also reviewed progress on several key expressway projects and emphasized that improved connectivity would significantly boost industrial development, investment, and employment opportunities in the state. Officials informed the meeting that nearly 55 percent of the land acquisition work for the Farrukhabad Link Expressway has been completed.
Yogi Adityanath directed officials to complete land acquisition for the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway, Jewar Link Expressway, and Jhansi Link Expressway by the end of June. It was also noted that the alignment for the Meerut-Haridwar Expressway has been approved and land acquisition planning is currently underway.
The Chief Minister made it clear that unnecessary delays in investment-related projects would not be tolerated. He instructed departments to expedite pending matters and maintain regular coordination with investors. During the meeting, officials shared updates on the Multi Modal Logistic Hub project, stating that possession of 301 hectares out of the required 323 hectares has already been secured. The last date for selecting a developer through tender has been extended to July 6, 2026.
Similarly, for the proposed Multi Modal Transport Hub, 144 hectares out of the required 200 hectares have already been acquired, while the remaining land acquisition process is in progress.

The Chief Minister also reviewed model building bylaws for industrial development authorities and directed officials to simplify and streamline approval procedures to make the investment ecosystem more transparent and investor-friendly.
Reviewing the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, the Chief Minister instructed departments to ensure adequate human resources for effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots level. Officials informed the meeting that recruitment processes for vacant positions at state, district, and block levels are underway.
The meeting also focused on the proposed Seed Park and Textile Park projects in Lucknow. The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate these projects and integrate them with the state’s agricultural and industrial growth strategies. Officials stated that discussions have already been held with international organizations and major seed companies regarding the Seed Park initiative.
Reviewing the Uttar Pradesh Defense Corridor projects, Yogi Adityanath reiterated the government’s commitment to making the state a leading defense manufacturing hub. Officials informed that Icons Hindustan Aerospace and Defense Systems Private Limited has proposed an investment of ₹125 crore in the Aligarh Defense Node, and the proposal has already received recommendations from the technical evaluation and land allotment committees.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the proposed Agriculture Export Hub near Jewar International Airport and the Aqua Bridge Project in Unnao. Officials informed that 29 acres of land have already been identified for the Agriculture Export Hub, while 60 acres have been earmarked for the Aqua Bridge project, where fish processing, packaging, feed plants, and export facilities will be developed.
Emphasizing entrepreneurship and urban development, the Chief Minister directed departments to strengthen the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana and expedite projects under the Urban Challenge Fund. He also ordered the formation of a dedicated monitoring cell in the Chief Minister’s Office to ensure regular review and timely completion of all priority projects under the “CM Samiksha” initiative.
