Lucknow: A workshop regarding prevention of increasing sexual crime against children under POCSO Act and under the joint aegis of PG course Criminology and Criminal Justice Administration, the Department of Social Work, Lucknow University. and District Inspector of Schools, Lucknow  at Bright Way Public School, Babuganj, Lucknow under the guidance of Head of Department Prof. Rakesh Dwivedi and in coordination with Assistant Professor of Criminal and Criminal Justice Administration Dr. Omendra Kumar Yadav.

Student Anupam Gupta inaugurated the program by giving brief information about the role of the workshop and the Department of Social Work. Moving the program forward, Sanskriti explained the purpose of POCSO law and gave information about the types of child abuse, causes and its effects on children like dysphoria, depression and also told that a person below the age of 18 years of POCSO Act comes under the category of a child and he can file a complaint under the Act.

After this, Anupam Gupta informed the children and teachers about the use of child friendly environment by the court and police in the POCSO Act as well as about completing the hearing within a year. After this, student Anand made the children aware in detail by giving some of his real experiences and examples.

After that Aditi motivated the children to not sit quiet for any such abuse and harassment but to raise their voice by reporting it to their parents or teachers and also told that according to the Act, the identity of the child is kept secret. In the end, Aman Chaudhary and Abhishek Raghuvanshi asked the children questions related to the workshop and the workshop was concluded by distributing chocolates. School teachers were also present in the workshop.
