Qatar: The Web Summit Qatar 2025 witnessed participation from approximately 25,000 attendees representing 125 countries. This globally recognized event has gained popularity among innovative startups, attracting entrepreneurs, investors, and tech enthusiasts from across the world. This year, the summit placed a strong emphasis on generative AI, highlighting the ongoing technological rivalry between the United States and China in the AI sector.
A total of 1,520 startups from various countries, including India, participated in the event. Under the Startup India initiative, several Indian startups had the opportunity to showcase their products. Some of these startups had previously gained recognition on Shark Tank India and successfully secured funding. Notably, Arista Vault, an Indian startup, presented its range of smart luggage solutions at the Web Summit.
Arista Vault claims to be India’s first company to develop secure luggage solutions. Their innovative products include wallets, bags, and trolleys equipped with biometric authentication features. Additionally, they have introduced a remote-controlled trolley that allows users to either sit on it while moving through airports or have it autonomously follow them. This trolley also comes with a remote controller, adding to its convenience.
Web Summit has established itself as a significant platform for startups worldwide, offering them an opportunity to connect with potential investors. This year, the event saw the presence of 600 investors who explored funding opportunities in promising startups. Live pitch sessions, akin to Shark Tank, enabled entrepreneurs to present their business ideas directly to investors, leading to immediate funding decisions in some cases.
Web Summit events consistently attract renowned personalities from the global tech and entertainment industries. At Web Summit Lisbon, Microsoft’s Senior Vice President was among the key speakers. This year in Qatar, Hollywood star Will Smith also made an appearance, adding to the event’s prestige. AI continued to be a major talking point at the summit, with numerous startups presenting AI-driven projects.
