Uttar Pradesh to Become a Hub for Startups and Electronics, Boosting Employment and Development

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is taking swift steps to promote electronic manufacturing and startups in the state. In this regard, a review meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Limited was held today at the second-floor auditorium of Bapu Bhawan, Lucknow. The meeting was chaired by Cabinet Minister (IT & Electronics) Sunil Kumar Sharma, with the presence of Principal Secretary (IT & Electronics) . Anurag Yadav, IAS, along with senior officials from the department. The meeting extensively discussed various issues, including the expansion of the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), support for startups, making administrative processes more efficient, and job creation.

During the meeting, the minister directed that the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) be expanded and established in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well. He emphasized the need to develop electronic manufacturing zones in key cities like Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Kanpur, which would encourage industrial investment in the state and create new job opportunities for local youth.

The minister also prioritized the establishment of a state-of-the-art startup hub in Lucknow. He stated that this hub would accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture in the state, providing a strong platform for local startups.

Additionally, the minister instructed the department to fill vacant positions at the earliest. He noted that this would enhance administrative efficiency and ensure the smooth implementation of various schemes.

He also stressed the need to make the startup incentive process transparent and automated, allowing startups to operate seamlessly without unnecessary administrative complexities.

This initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government is a significant step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s trillion-dollar economy vision and developing the state as a world-class startup and electronics hub under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The meeting was attended by Special Secretary (IT & Electronics)  Rahul Singh, IAS, Special Secretary (IT & Electronics)  Neha Jain, IAS, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Electronics Corporation Limited (UPLC)  Ravi Ranjan, IAS, along with other senior officials.
