Uttar Pradesh Becomes India’s Highest Power Supplying State, Achieves Record 31,804 MW Supply

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has achieved a major milestone in the energy sector by successfully meeting a record peak electricity demand of 31,804 megawatts at 10:39 pm on Saturday, marking the highest power supply ever recorded by any state in the country.

Announcing the achievement, Uttar Pradesh’s Energy and Urban Development Minister, A.K. Sharma, said the state government remains committed to ensuring uninterrupted and quality electricity supply to every household, village and city across the state.

The minister stated that the state government has gone beyond the scheduled roster system to ensure widespread and uninterrupted electricity supply, particularly during the ongoing summer season and rising power demand.

According to the government, rural areas also received nearly 22 to 22.5 hours of electricity supply, providing significant relief to farmers, traders, industries and the general public amid increasing temperatures.

Calling the achievement a major step towards energy self-reliance, Sharma said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the state supplying the highest amount of electricity in the country. He also dismissed attempts by some sections to create confusion regarding the state’s power situation, stating that the actual ground reality reflects major improvements in electricity availability and infrastructure.

The minister acknowledged that localised disruptions may occasionally occur due to technical, natural or human-related factors, but assured that officials and electricity department employees are working round-the-clock to resolve complaints and maintain smooth power supply.

He appealed to citizens to support and encourage electricity workers who continue to operate under extreme weather conditions to ensure uninterrupted services across the state.

Officials believe the record supply reflects the state’s strengthening power infrastructure, improved transmission systems and growing capability to handle increasing peak demand during high-consumption periods.
