Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major reshuffle in the police department, transferring 35 IPS officers to new assignments across districts, police commissionerates, specialised units and headquarters. The order, issued late Saturday night, includes changes involving senior officers at the levels of Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The reshuffle comes shortly after the transfer of 13 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) and Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers. Among the latest changes, 11 officers who were recently promoted from the PPS cadre to the IPS have also been given new responsibilities, including field and headquarters assignments.
The Home Department has directed all transferred officers to take charge of their new postings with immediate effect and submit a report to police headquarters after assuming responsibility.
Major Changes in Commissionerates and Districts
Charu Nigam has been appointed Commandant of the 47th Battalion PAC in Ghaziabad. She was earlier serving as Superintendent of Police, UP-112.
Shravan Kumar Singh has been posted as DCP in the Noida Police Commissionerate, while Pramod Kumar has been appointed SP, Cyber Headquarters, UP-112, Lucknow.
Ravi Shankar Neem will serve as Commandant of the 2nd Battalion of the Special Security Force (SSF) in Mathura. Sonam Kumar has been appointed SP, Intelligence Headquarters, Lucknow.
The reshuffle also brings changes in Prayagraj and Agra. Ravindra Kumar has been posted as DCP, Prayagraj Police Commissionerate, while Vivek Kumar and Saad Mian Khan have been posted as DCPs in the Agra Police Commissionerate.
Neeraj Kumar Pandey has been appointed SP, Police Headquarters, Prayagraj, while Mamta Rani Chaudhary has been posted as SP, CBCID, Lucknow. Mohd Irfan Ansari will serve as SP, CBCID, UP-112, Lucknow.
Syed Ali Abbas has been appointed DCP in the Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) Police Commissionerate. Ayush Srivastava will take charge as SP, Unnao.
At the additional police superintendent level, Vikram Dahiya has been posted as ASP, Chandauli, while Shruti Srivastava has been appointed Additional DCP, Prayagraj. Rajesh Gunawat will serve as Additional DCP, Varanasi.
Other postings include Anant Chandrashekhar as SP City, Jaunpur; Devesh Chaturvedi as ASP, Pilibhit; Vivek Tiwari as ASP (North), Barabanki; and Sumit Sudhakar Ramteke as ASP (North), Sambhal.
Ariba Noman has been appointed Additional DCP in the Kanpur Nagar Police Commissionerate.
11 Recently Promoted IPS Officers Get New Roles
The government has also assigned new responsibilities to officers who were recently promoted from the PPS cadre to the IPS.
Manoj Kumar Yadav has been posted as Additional DCP, Agra Police Commissionerate, while Rijul has been appointed Additional DCP, Ghaziabad.
Gautam Rai will serve as ASP (Rural), Bijnor, and Maevis Tok as ASP, Sambhal.
Among the officers receiving DCP-level assignments, Jitendra Kumar Srivastava has been posted as DCP, Lucknow Police Commissionerate. Gyanendra Nath Prasad has been appointed DCP, Agra, while Balwant Kumar Chaudhary will serve as DCP, Ghaziabad.
Abhay Nath Tripathi has been posted as DCP, Kanpur Police Commissionerate, while Harendra Kumar will serve as DCP, Agra. Rajesh Kumar Pandey has been appointed DCP, Varanasi.
Harendra Pratap Yadav has been posted as SP, UP-112, Lucknow. Kuldeep Singh will serve as Commandant of the 43rd Battalion PAC, Etah, while Vineet Bhatnagar has been appointed DCP, Varanasi.
The latest orders have altered the deployment of IPS officers across several major police commissionerates and districts. With the transferred officers directed to assume charge immediately, the new postings are expected to take effect without delay.
The reshuffle covers field policing as well as specialised assignments in intelligence, CBCID, UP-112, PAC, SSF and police headquarters, marking a broad reallocation of responsibilities across the Uttar Pradesh police establishment.
