Lucknow: In a major relief for candidates appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a 50 percent concession in bus fares for aspirants travelling to their examination centres.
The decision comes ahead of the Constable Civil Police and equivalent posts recruitment examination being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board on June 8, 9 and 10. Candidates will be able to avail the discounted fare by showing their examination admit cards while travelling on buses operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
According to the state government, the initiative has been taken to ease the financial burden on candidates and ensure smooth transportation during the large-scale recruitment exercise. Nearly 2.9 million aspirants are expected to appear for the examination across various districts of Uttar Pradesh, making it one of the largest recruitment drives in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the government remains committed to providing a transparent, fair and candidate-friendly recruitment process. Considering the extensive travel requirements of applicants appearing at examination centres across different districts, the fare concession is intended to provide both financial relief and greater convenience.
The recruitment examination is being conducted in two shifts each day over the three-day period. The special fare concession will remain applicable throughout the examination schedule.
The Chief Minister has also directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements for the smooth, safe and peaceful conduct of the examination. Authorities have been instructed to provide candidates with a secure and supportive environment, enabling them to take the examination without inconvenience.
The move has been widely welcomed by aspirants, many of whom travel long distances to reach their allotted examination centres. The fare concession is expected to significantly reduce travel expenses and facilitate hassle-free participation in the recruitment process.
