Lucknow: Young players from Uttar Pradesh delivered impressive performances in the qualifying rounds of the AITA CS-7 Under-18 Tennis Tournament, with several local talents securing places in the boys’ singles main draw alongside Uttarakhand player Ashwin Chauhan.
The tournament is being organised by SDS Tennis Academy at the La Martiniere Lawn Tennis Facility within La Martiniere College.
The qualifiers witnessed several competitive encounters as players battled for spots in the main draw.
Ashwin Chauhan Advances Comfortably
Representing Uttarakhand, Ashwin Chauhan booked his place in the main draw with an impressive 8-2 victory over Amol Agrawal of Chhattisgarh.
Apart from Ashwin, the remaining players who advanced to the main draw were all from Uttar Pradesh, underlining the host state’s strong presence in the competition.

Strong Showing by UP Players
In the final qualifying round, Amartya Chaudhary defeated Shaurya Agrawal 8-5, while Abhiuday Singh registered an 8-3 win against Anay Srivastava.
Other notable results included:
- Dhruv Singh defeated Harsh Bhadauria 8-1
- Pranav Sharma beat Avi Agrawal 8-5
- Devansh Vij overcame Pavith Singh 8-1
- Akshat Tyagi edged past Mohammad Ariz 8-7(5) in one of the most thrilling matches of the day
Meanwhile, Nipun Chauhan progressed after receiving a bye.
The main draw matches of the championship are set to begin on Monday from 7 am onward.
