Traffic Diversion Plan for Mahashivratri day set in motion

Lucknow: In light of the Mahashivratri celebrations on February 26, 2025, a large number of devotees are expected to visit Shiva temples across the city from the early morning hours. To ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion, the Lucknow Traffic Police has announced a special traffic diversion plan, effective from 12:00 AM on February 25, 2025, until further notice.

Traffic Diversions:

  1. General traffic from Daliganj Ikka Tanga Stand crossing will not be allowed towards Hanuman Setu Temple via Mankameshwar Mandir Bandha Road. Vehicles must take IT crossing or Daliganj bridge to reach their destination.
  2. No vehicle movement will be permitted towards Mankameshwar Mandir from Mankameshwar Temple Dhaal Tiraha.
  3. Traffic from Band Makkhan crossing will not be allowed towards Mankameshwar Temple and should use Pannalal crossing instead.
  4. Vehicles from Nadwa Bandha Tiraha will be diverted away from Mankameshwar Temple and can use IT Crossing or Subhash Crossing as alternate routes.
  5. All vehicles heading towards Budheshwar Temple from Budheshwar Crossing will be restricted and must use Budheshwar Overbridge.
  6. No vehicles will be allowed from Pal Tiraha towards Budheshwar Crossing.
  7. Vehicles from Agra Expressway intending to go towards Sitapur Road must take Mohan Morh to Tikonia Tiraha via Budheshwar Overbridge.
  8. Vehicles from Dubagga Tiraha heading towards Tikonia Tiraha or Barabirwa Crossing must pass via Budheshwar Overbridge.
  9. Vehicles from Barabirwa Crossing or Manaknagar heading towards Sitapur Road or Dubagga must use Budheshwar Overbridge.
  10. General traffic from Nahar Pul Crossing (Kakori Morh) will not be allowed towards Budheshwar Crossing, Dubagga Crossing, or Tikonia Tiraha and must take the alternative route via Para Police Station to reach Tikonia Tiraha and Budheshwar Overbridge.
  11. Vehicles from Balaganj Crossing will not be allowed towards Koneshwar Temple, Koneshwar Crossing, Ghantaghar Tiraha, Chowk Crossing, or Charak Crossing. Instead, they must take the left route via Harinagar, Bandha Green Corridor, and Kudiyaghat.
  12. Traffic from Charak Crossing towards Chowk Crossing, Koneshwar Temple, and Balaganj Crossing will be diverted through Roomi Gate Crossing, Kudiyaghat, Bandha Green Corridor, and Harinagar.

Important Advisory:

In case of medical emergencies or unavoidable circumstances, emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire services, school buses, and funeral processions will be allowed on restricted routes under police supervision. The Lucknow Traffic Police urges commuters to follow the diversions and cooperate to ensure a smooth and safe Mahashivratri celebration.
