The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha begins today

New Delhi: The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is going to begin from today. At the beginning of the session, all 280 newly elected MPs including PM Modi will take oath, while the next day 264 newly elected MPs will take oath. In the 18th Lok Sabha, NDA has a majority with 293 seats, while BJP has 240 seats.

At the same time, the opposition India Block has 234 seats. Out of these, Congress has 99 seats. At the same time, the election for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker will be held on June 26 and after that the PM will introduce his Council of Ministers in the House.

President Murmu will address the joint meeting of both the houses of Parliament on June 27. On June 28, the debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address will begin. In response to the President’s address, PM Modi will address the Lok Sabha on July 2, while he will speak in the Rajya Sabha on July 3.
