TDP springs a big surprise down South

Hyderabad: Along with the counting of Lok Sabha elections across the country, counting of Assembly elections is also going on in Andhra Pradesh. In the trends so far, Chandra Babu Naidu’s party TDP is seen getting a huge majority. From the trends, it seems that TDP can form the government here on its own.

However, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have contested the elections together in the state. Amidst these trends, Chandra Babu Naidu has spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the phone.

TDP is leading on 130 seats in Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP and JNP are leading on 19-19 seats. At the same time, BJP is leading on 7 seats. Let us tell you that Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has sought time of 4 pm from the Governor to resign. YS Jagan will resign from the post of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Jagan will submit his resignation to Governor S Abdul Nazir. At present he is holding an internal meeting with his colleagues.

TDP contested on 144 seats

Let us tell you that elections were held in Andhra Pradesh on 13 May along with the Lok Sabha elections. YSRCP, led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, contested on all 175 seats. TDP, led by N Chandrababu Naidu, fielded its candidates on 144 seats. Apart from this, Jana Sena Party (JSP) led by actor Pawan Kalyan contested on 21 seats, while BJP contested on 10 seats. 2,387 candidates were in the fray for Andhra Pradesh assembly elections
