Palampur: Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar visited the Dorjong Monastery Institute in Jia near Palampur on Thursday. On this occasion he met the head Lama of the monastery. The head Lama also honored Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and gave detailed information about the monastery. District administration officials were also present with him on this occasion.

Located in the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountain range, the Dorjong Monastery Institute (DMI) is a place for study and study of Buddhism. This institute is located near Gopalpur village, about 20 km from Dharamshala. It was founded by Kyabje Dorjong Rinpoche VIII to preserve Buddhism and the Drukpa Kagyu community in a beautiful location covered with pine forests.

DMI provides Tibetans living in the Himalayan border hill areas such as Jungskar, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and India the opportunity to study and practice Buddhism and their ancestral tradition. Buddhist festivals, prayers and ceremonies are also held here and medical aid is provided to the needy local population. This organization is also known as Yellow Roof Math. At around 10.30 pm on Thursday night, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and Union Minister Anurag Thakur also met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the Ashram in Gopalpur and took his blessings.
