Sony MAX Partners with Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi to Raise Awareness on Child Safety Ahead of Mardaani 3 Premiere

Mumbai: Ahead of the World Television Premiere of Mardaani 3, Sony MAX has joined hands with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi and the Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion for a special awareness initiative focused on child safety.

The initiative is being rolled out ahead of the film’s World Television Premiere on Sony MAX at 8 pm on Sunday, August 16. Through the campaign, the channel aims to encourage families and communities to respond quickly and responsibly when a child goes missing.

As part of the collaboration, Satyarthi has recorded a special awareness message for Sony MAX, urging people to treat every missing-child case with urgency and take immediate action. The campaign uses the central theme of Mardaani 3, which revolves around crimes against children, to reinforce the message that protecting children is a collective responsibility.

Satyarthi emphasised that every missing child is someone’s son or daughter and that even a short delay can have serious consequences. While acknowledging the critical role of law enforcement, he stressed the importance of community awareness and timely intervention in helping children return safely to their families.

The initiative seeks to bring together the emotional impact of a powerful cinematic narrative and Satyarthi’s decades-long advocacy for children’s rights. It aims to encourage families and members of society to remain vigilant, understand the risks faced by children and act promptly whenever a child’s safety is at stake.

Devika Prabhu, Business Head – Hindi Movies, Sony Pictures Networks India, said entertainment can go beyond providing enjoyment and can also create conversations around important social issues. She said the collaboration with Satyarthi reflects the network’s effort to extend the message of Mardaani 3 beyond the screen and encourage families and communities to work together towards creating a safer environment for children.

Satyarthi has spent decades campaigning against child trafficking, child labour and exploitation and advocating for every child’s right to a safe and dignified childhood. His work has made him one of the prominent global voices on child protection and children’s rights.

The campaign is closely linked to the storyline of Mardaani 3, which explores crimes against children and the fight to protect them. The film stars Rani Mukerji as Shivani Shivaji Roy, the fearless police officer at the centre of the Mardaani franchise.

In the film, the sudden disappearance of several young girls sets off an investigation that gradually exposes a powerful trafficking network. With time running out, Shivani races to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrators to justice. The story combines themes of courage, justice and the urgent need to protect vulnerable children.

Mardaani 3 will have its World Television Premiere on Sunday, August 16, at 8 pm, exclusively on Sony MAX.
