Greater Noida: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Semicon India-2024 will establish India as a global leader in the production, design and technology development of semiconductors in line with PM Modi’s vision. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as an exporter of consumer electronics in the country and the world today.
The result of the efforts made in the last few years is that 55 percent of the country’s mobile manufacturing and 50 percent of mobile component production is taking place in Uttar Pradesh. CM Yogi said that Samsung India is setting up the plant of its display unit in Uttar Pradesh.
Also, Uttar Pradesh is becoming a big hub of data center. Uttar Pradesh Semiconductor Policy-2024 has been implemented to provide a favorable environment to semiconductors. In this policy, attractive provisions have been made for capital assistance, interest subsidy, land value, stamp, exemption in electricity duty.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday attended the inaugural function of Semicon India-2024 at India Expo Mart along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The theme of this program, which will run from 11-13 September, is “Shaping the Semiconductor Future”.
Addressing the program, CM Yogi said that this three-day program will prove to be the realization of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. CM Yogi said that in the year 2020, the global supply chain was badly affected by the global pandemic Corona and geopolitical global tensions.
The semiconductor industry was also affected by this. He said that when the world was hit by Corona, at that time, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India had issued its notification for the development of semiconductor and display manufacturing eco system along with corona management. This was an important step taken towards making a self-reliant India.
CM Yogi said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, Uttar Pradesh has paid special attention to the IT sector, data center, electronic manufacturing and semiconductors. He said that today Uttar Pradesh is establishing itself as a hub for global semiconductor design engineers.
Major companies like Media Tech, ERM, Qualcomm, NHP, Synopsys Candence are established here, which are proving to be helpful in leveraging local talent in Uttar Pradesh and promoting innovation in semiconductor design. In view of this, the IT industry has been given the status of industry in Uttar Pradesh, so that industrial land under the authorities can be given to IT companies at cheap rates.
CM Yogi said that many steps have been taken towards creating a favorable environment for investment in the state. As a result of this, Uttar Pradesh has achieved the status of Achiever State in Ease of Doing Business. At present, 27 sectoral policies of different sectors have been implemented in the state. Uttar Pradesh also has a dedicated policy for FDI Fortune Global-500 and Fortune India-500 companies.
More than 450 online services are being operated through the single window portal ‘Investment Mitra’, using technology to the maximum extent for the convenience of entrepreneurs. ‘Investment Sarathi’ portal has been developed for MOU monitoring. Incentive distribution is also being done online in the state today. 100 Udyam Mitras have been deployed to assist investors.
CM Yogi said that ease of doing business, infrastructure connectivity and strong law and order are the USPs of Uttar Pradesh today. Uttar Pradesh has a large network of rail and road. Eastern and Western Freight Dedicated Corridor passes through the state. The country’s first inland water-way operates between Varanasi and Haldia.
Along with the Multi Model Terminal in Varanasi, a Multi Model Logistics Hub in Dadri and a Logistics Transport Hub in Udaki are being developed. He said that the state’s first Medical Device Park, Film City, Toy City, Apparel Park and Handicraft Park are being developed along the Yamuna Expressway. Integrated Township in Greater Noida, Mega Food Park in Bareilly and Trans Ganga City in Unnao etc. schemes are progressing rapidly.
Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasad, Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma, BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary along with global leaders from India and abroad working in the field of semiconductors were present in the program.
