“Universities must move beyond traditional education systems and work towards AI-enabled, student-centric and innovation-driven higher education,” Prof. Rai said. He emphasised the need to develop AI awareness and skills among students and teachers while ensuring responsible and ethical use of AI in research.

Elaborating on the university’s future plans, Prof. Rai said AI would be introduced across different areas in a phased manner. These initiatives include AI-enabled teaching and learning, research and data analysis, digital administration, smart student services, skill development, innovation and strengthening the startup ecosystem.

He also stressed that data security, ethics, transparency and human values must receive equal importance alongside the adoption of AI.

The Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of the participating universities guided participants and institutions on both days of the event. She emphasised the effective and responsible use of AI in higher education institutions, promotion of innovation and preparing students to meet future technological challenges.

The two-day programme provided a platform for discussions on AI-based activities, innovations and achievements presented by various universities. It also facilitated knowledge sharing, exchange of experiences and the development of common strategies for the future of AI in higher education across the state.

Prof. Rai said AI represented more than a technological transformation for universities; it offered an opportunity to reshape the entire culture of education. He observed that institutions that successfully integrate AI with human sensitivity, ethics and the Indian knowledge tradition would be better placed to advance in the coming years.
