Rajpal Yadav, known for his impeccable comic timing and acting, has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. The actor, who gained fame for his role as ‘Chhota Pandit’ in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, will soon be seen in the film Baby John alongside Varun Dhawan. Recently, during his appearance at the Jagran Film Festival, Rajpal shared his career insights, personal experiences, and what profession he would have chosen if he hadn’t become an actor.
Rajpal Yadav’s Upcoming Film Baby John
In his upcoming film Baby John, Rajpal Yadav will be portraying a police officer. The action-thriller, produced under Atlee’s production, also stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role. The actor expressed his excitement about the film and his role, highlighting the special collaboration with Varun Dhawan and the film’s storyline.
On the Importance of Comedy in Cinema
Rajpal Yadav also shared his thoughts on the significance of comedy in cinema. He said, “There are nine rasas (emotions) in the body, and humor is the most vital one. Humor not only spreads happiness but also improves blood circulation. It’s the most important ‘rasa’ after breathing.”
He further explained how his journey began with street plays, and over time, he encountered great personalities like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Ajay Devgn. From each of them, he learned valuable lessons that helped shape his career.
His Short Stint in Politics
Rajpal also discussed his brief involvement in politics. “I didn’t contest elections, but I was keen on doing something for the environment, rivers, and forests. I wanted to create awareness. In 2020, before Pandit Dev Prabhakar Shastri Ji passed away, he advised me to focus on acting, which led me back to my core passion.”
What Would He Have Done If He Wasn’t an Actor?
Rajpal Yadav revealed that if he hadn’t become an actor, he would have pursued a career in either journalism or politics. “In 1990, I had a passive interest in politics because it was another field I found intriguing, as both politics and journalism are about expression. If I weren’t an actor, I would have been a journalist or a politician, as both fields also offer platforms to voice one’s thoughts and contribute to society.”
Praise for Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Rajpal also praised actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, stating that he appreciates Nawaz’s humility. “Nawaz Bhai is very generous. We are not attached to each other’s success or failure. We have been together during both success and failure, and from each other, we have learned a lot.”
Rajpal Yadav’s role in Baby John marks a fresh beginning for him, and audiences have high expectations for the film. Released on December 25, the film has already received positive reviews and is expected to do well at the box office.
