Mumbai (Anil Bedag): A new chapter was added to the Indian comics industry at Mumbai Comic Con 2026, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, where Raj Comics and Bharat Atman Studios grandly launched two historic comics. Known for iconic Indian superheroes like Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruv and Doga, Raj Comics has now taken a unique initiative to bring India’s history, patriotism and cultural heritage closer to the younger generation through the medium of comics.
The biggest attraction of the launch was a special comic cover featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi, connected to the story of revolutionary freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma. Raj Comics co-founder Sanjay Gupta said, “We are not just creating entertainment, but also trying to introduce India’s forgotten heroes and cultural legacy to today’s youth through modern storytelling.” Publisher Vasu Gupta described the initiative as “a cultural mission to connect the new generation with Indian history and patriotism.”
Written by Vishnu Sharma, the comic series received an overwhelming response from comic lovers and is being seen as a new revolution in the Indian comics world.
