Principals of Rohilkhand University-Affiliated Colleges Attend Key NAAC Preparation Meeting in Lucknow

Lucknow/Bareilly: A significant meeting of principals from colleges affiliated with Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University was held at Jan Bhavan in Lucknow on Wednesday. The meeting was convened by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel, with the objective of guiding affiliated colleges in preparation for upcoming NAAC assessments.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Anandiben Patel emphasized that NAAC evaluation is not merely a formal process but a reflection of the quality, transparency, and accountability of educational institutions. She urged all colleges to work meticulously toward strengthening academic standards while also giving priority to social responsibilities and community engagement.

The Governor particularly stressed the importance of initiatives related to women and child welfare, stating that colleges can bring positive social transformation by actively participating in community-oriented programmes and welfare activities.

Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay was also present at the meeting. He said that colleges should not function only as centres of academic learning but also as institutions of social change. He encouraged principals to engage in social service activities aimed at uplifting the underprivileged sections of society.

Following the meeting, the principals visited Jan Bhavan and inspected the Miyawaki-style garden developed on the premises. During the visit, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh inspired the attendees to promote environmental conservation and tree plantation drives on college campuses.

He remarked that responsibility toward nature is as important as responsibility toward education and encouraged institutions to adopt large-scale plantation initiatives inspired by the Miyawaki model to create greener campuses and foster environmental awareness among students.

At the conclusion of the programme, the principals welcomed the guidance provided by the Governor and Vice-Chancellor and resolved to prioritize NAAC preparedness along with socially relevant and environmentally conscious initiatives in their respective institutions.
