Lucknow: Extensive security arrangements have been put in place across Lucknow ahead of Eid-ul-Azha celebrations, with more than 1,300 police personnel deployed to ensure peaceful festivities across the city, officials said.
The Lucknow Police, along with six companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), wireless units and Local Intelligence Unit teams, have been stationed at sensitive locations and major prayer sites to maintain law and order during the festival.
Special security measures have been implemented around prominent Eid prayer venues, including Tiley Wali Masjid, Aishbagh Eidgah and Asifi Masjid at Bara Imambara. According to Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Babloo Kumar, Sunni community members will offer prayers at Tiley Wali Masjid from 9 am and at Aishbagh Eidgah from 10 am, while Shia community prayers will begin at Asifi Masjid from 11 am onwards.
Police officials said the security setup around Aishbagh Eidgah has been divided into four zones and five sectors for better crowd control and monitoring.

The deployment includes 24 senior officers, among them Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police (ADCPs) and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), along with 50 inspectors, 482 sub-inspectors, 737 constables and head constables, and 54 home guards.
Authorities have also deployed women personnel in plain clothes, Anti-Romeo squads, Pink Patrol teams and Dial-112 units in crowded areas to ensure women’s safety and prevent harassment during the festival.
Police officials said mock drills, joint briefings and route rehearsals have already been conducted to strengthen emergency preparedness and crowd management systems. CCTV surveillance and social media monitoring will continue round the clock, while special traffic diversions and advisories have been issued to ensure smooth movement in the old city areas during Eid celebrations.
