Old Boys of Allahabad University converge under one roof

Lucknow: A big gathering of former students who have been there in the last 70 years was held in a hotel in Lucknow in the general meeting of Holland Hall Alumni Association of Allahabad University.

The general meeting was inaugurated by the President Shailendra Pratap Singh and he underlined the need for a positive role of creative collectivity in student life and told that the alumni have been bearing the entire cost of education of 19 children of the employees of that hostel for the last 3 years.

Addressing the general meeting as the chief guest, Chandrashekhar Verma, grandson of the great writer Bhagwati Charan Verma, who was a resident of Holland Hall, said that this hostel has been the creation ground of litterateurs and that spirit has been kept alive even today.

The event was addressed by former Uttar Pradesh minister Arun Kumar Singh Munna, former Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Nrip Singh Napalchal, former Divisional Commissioner R P Shukla, former IAS Madhukar Dwivedi, Secretary Sudhir Singh, Vice President Buddhi Sagar Dubey, Rakesh Shukla etc.

Alumni of Holland Hall Hostel participated from many parts of the country.

The new executive of the association was also elected which included former IG Shailendra Pratap Singh as president, vice-president Buddhi Sagar Dubey and secretary Sudhir Singh, along with an 18-member executive. On this occasion, a book ‘Smritiyon Ke Vatayan Se’ and a magazine ‘Aahat’ were also released and distributed.
