NTPC Rihand making cleanliness a habit

Sonebhadra: NTPC Rihand has started the Cleanliness Fortnight. Cleanliness Fortnight-2024 was inaugurated by project head Pankaj Mediratta. During this, he administered the oath of cleanliness to the entire NTPC family in a program organized at Sonashakti Stadium. In which officers and employees of all departments related to NTPC Rihand were included. Cleanliness Fortnight: From 16th May to 31st May 2024, a continuous cleanliness campaign will be conducted in the plant and residential premises of the project.

Cleanliness Fortnight was inaugurated with Prabhat Pheri. Prabhat Pheri was organized by project head Pankaj Mediratta. During this, all the officers and employees along with Mediratta started the cleaning campaign by taking out brooms. Under Swachhta Pakhwada, people will be made aware of cleanliness by running continuous cleanliness campaigns in plants and residential premises.

Rihand Super Thermal Power Project is located at Renukut, Sonebhadra in Sonbhadra district in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of NTPC Limited.

Rihand Super Thermal Power Station has an installed capacity of 3000 MW. The First unit was commissioned in March 1988. The coal for the plant is derived from Amlori and Dudhichua mines. The water source is from Rihand Reservoir which is constructed on Son river.

NTPC Rihand is situated 75 km away from Renukoot railway station. By personal cab or public transport bus, one can reach Rihand Nagar. Local market outside NTPC township is Bijpur. If one is interested in a bit bigger market, one has to go to Waidhan which is 30 km away from Rihandnagar
