MJPRU Holds Meeting to Introduce AI Courses and Expand Digital Academic Systems

Bareilly: A key meeting was convened at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) to discuss the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic programmes and administrative processes. The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh at the university’s committee hall.

Highlighting the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence, Prof. Singh emphasized that AI has become an essential component of modern education. Referring to the National Education Policy 2020, he noted that the policy strongly advocates the integration of advanced technologies into higher education curricula.

The Vice-Chancellor proposed the introduction of a two-credit AI course aimed at equipping students with contemporary skills aligned with industry demands. He also stressed the need for faculty training to ensure effective delivery of such courses. Discussions were held on leveraging AI-based systems for streamlining university operations such as admissions, timetable management, and data analysis to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Additionally, the meeting explored the potential use of AI tools in evaluating assignments and research theses. Prof. Singh further encouraged the expansion of online services to benefit students, particularly those residing outside the city, reducing the need for frequent campus visits.

Senior university officials, including the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, heads of departments, and deans, were present at the meeting.
