Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has made its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, securing a position in the 701–800 band. The university described the achievement as a significant milestone in its academic journey.
According to information released by the university, MJPRU has ranked first among state public universities in Uttar Pradesh and 25th among the 144 Indian universities included in the ranking. A total of 2,297 institutions were evaluated globally for the rankings.
The university said its inclusion reflects its efforts in academic quality, research, international collaboration, innovation and sustainable development. THE World University Rankings assess institutions across multiple indicators related to teaching, research, international outlook and broader academic performance.
The university attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of its faculty members, researchers, students, officers and employees. It said the recognition would provide further impetus to strengthening research capabilities, international academic engagement, quality teaching and social impact.
Under the guidance of Chancellor Anandiben Patel and Vice-Chancellor Prof Anil Kumar Rai, MJPRU said it has been focusing on quality education, research excellence, innovation, global academic partnerships, student-centric learning and sustainable and inclusive development.
Prof Rai said the university’s placement in the 701–800 band and its 25th position in India were the result of collective commitment and sustained efforts. He said the recognition would encourage the university to pursue greater excellence, innovation and global collaboration.
The university dedicated the achievement to its teachers, researchers, students, officials, employees, alumni and partner institutions.
