Bareilly: The Department of B.Ed./M.Ed. (IASE) under the Faculty of Education and Allied Sciences at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has commenced the online registration process for admission to its Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme for the academic session 2026-27.
Interested candidates can apply online through the university’s Samarth Admission Portal until June 30, 2026. The university has also extended eligibility to students currently appearing in the final-year examinations of B.Ed. and B.El.Ed. programmes, enabling them to participate in the admission process without waiting for their final results.
Head of the Department, Prof. Santosh Arora, informed that admissions to the M.Ed. programme will be granted on the basis of merit determined by marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 55 percent marks in B.Ed. or B.El.Ed. to be considered eligible.
She further stated that students appearing in the second year of B.Ed. and the fourth year of B.El.Ed. examinations can also submit their applications. Once their results are declared, they will be provided an opportunity to update their marks and other required details on the portal, ensuring that final-year students are not excluded from the admission process due to pending results.
According to Prof. Arora, candidates must first complete online registration on the Samarth Admission Portal and subsequently fill out the college registration form available on the same platform. After completing the online application process, applicants will be required to submit a printed copy of the application form along with relevant documents at the B.Ed./M.Ed. Department. Application forms will be accepted on all working days between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Highlighting the significance of the programme, Prof. Arora said that the M.Ed. course is an important postgraduate programme in teacher education, designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and expertise in teaching, educational research, academic leadership, and various dimensions of teacher education. She noted that the department offers modern academic infrastructure, a well-equipped library, ICT resources, a research-oriented environment, and guidance from experienced faculty members.

Appealing to aspiring candidates, Prof. Arora urged eligible applicants to complete the registration and application process well before the deadline and ensure timely submission of the hard copy of their application forms.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh said that the initiative aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes accessible, inclusive, and quality teacher education. “Allowing final-year students of B.Ed. and B.El.Ed. programmes to apply is a progressive step in this direction. I encourage all eligible candidates to register on the Samarth Portal without delay and make the most of this opportunity. The university remains committed to providing an excellent academic environment and a research-oriented approach to teacher education,” he said.
The university administration expects a strong response from aspiring educators seeking advanced professional training and academic growth through the M.Ed. programme.
