Lucknow Municipal Corporation Seizes 22 Animals in Action Against Illegal Dairy

Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation has intensified its crackdown on illegally operated milk dairies and the unauthorised keeping of cattle in public areas. A special enforcement drive was conducted on Monday in the Para police station area with the joint support of the police, enforcement squad and cattle-catching team.

During the operation in Kumarapuram, located in the Alamnagar Ward, the teams seized a total of 22 animals, including 19 buffaloes, two young male buffaloes and one young female buffalo. All the animals were taken to the Aishbagh Kanji House for safe confinement.

The municipal teams carried out the action against the illegal dairy during the joint operation, with police personnel deployed to assist the enforcement teams and maintain order at the site.

The drive was conducted following directions issued by the Municipal Commissioner as part of efforts to regulate unauthorised dairy operations and prevent cattle from being kept in public spaces.

Animal Welfare Officer Dr Abhinav Verma said enforcement against illegally operated dairies and the unauthorised keeping of animals in public places would continue across the city. Those found violating municipal regulations will face action in accordance with the applicable rules, officials said.

The civic body has indicated that similar operations will be undertaken in other areas as part of its ongoing enforcement campaign.
