Poetry Resonates, Book Launches Held, and Participants Honored
Lucknow: The Lucknow Book Fair, which commenced on March 1 at Ravindralay, Charbagh, bid farewell with the promise of returning next year. The event witnessed book sales worth an estimated ₹25 lakh, drawing a massive crowd of students and book lovers on its final day.
Book Fair Director Akarsh Chandel described the fair as a wonderful experience, highlighting that children and young readers were the most enthusiastic participants.
Closing Ceremony and Honors
During the closing ceremony, organizers honored publishing houses and distributors, including Children’s Book Trust, Divyansh Publications, Navpallav, Aditri Books, Rashtradharma Prakashan, Naman Prakashan, Bodhras Prakashan, and others. Fair Coordinator Manoj Singh Chandel presented mementos to key contributors such as U.P. Tripathi and Jyoti Kiran Ratan in the presence of distinguished guests.
Book Launch: ‘Kashi Shaivism’
Earlier in the day, renowned Kathak dancer Dr. Kumkum Dhar unveiled the book ‘Kashi Shaivism,’ published by Shubhi Prakashan. Author Gautam Chatterjee explained that the book explores art, spirituality, and philosophy, while Prof. Prakash praised the author’s deep insight into the subject. Dr. Dhar also spoke about the significance of Nataraja’s Tandava and Lasya in dance.
Notable attendees included Lamhi editor Vijay Rai and Kala Vasudha editor Shakha Bandopadhyay.
Poetry Recital Captivates Audience
Earlier in the morning, a poetry session organized by Lakshya Sansthan was held under the chairmanship of Umesh Chandra Dubey, with Dr. Sharad Kumar Pandey Shashank as the moderator. The event featured powerful recitations by poets such as Manas Mukul Tripathi, Kuldeep Shukla, Mangal Singh, Vishwam Lavleen, Sunil Kumar Vajpayee, Seema, Misha Singh Naval, Anuja Manu, Gayatri Joshi Arunima, Praveen Kumar Shukla ‘Gobar Ganesh,’ Manmohan Barakoti, Shivmangal Singh Mangal, Shyam Mishra, Kripashankar Srivastava Vishwas, Sunil Kumar Vajpayee, and Dr. Nisha Singh.
