Lucknow: The state government has suspended two officers of Municipal Corporation Agra and Lucknow with immediate effect for disobeying government orders, indifference towards duties and negligence. In this, Mahesh Chandra, Zonal Sanitary Officer of Uttar Pradesh Municipality (Centralized) Health Service in Municipal Corporation, Agra has been suspended with immediate effect for disobeying government orders and misconduct. Similarly, Executive Engineer (Civil) of Zone-07 in Municipal Corporation, Lucknow, Bijendra Pal has been suspended with immediate effect for showing indifference and negligence towards his official responsibilities and duties. Disciplinary action has also been recommended against both these suspended officers.
Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat has issued a suspension order in this regard on Friday. It has been said in the order issued that the Zonal Sanitary Officer of Municipal Corporation Agra was ordered to be posted on the same post in Municipal Corporation Mathura-Vrindavan in December 2023. On which Mahesh Chandra did not take charge at the new place of posting. Along with this, he also disregarded the government orders when his explanation was sought on this indiscipline.
Similarly, in Lucknow Municipal Corporation, Executive Engineer (Civil) of Zone-7, Bijendra Pal has been suspended for not getting the drain cleaning work done in his areas on time, not discharging his official duties faithfully and not taking interest in the work etc. The Mayor of Municipal Corporation Lucknow had conducted a surprise inspection of the drain cleaning work near Lohia Nagar, Shankar Purwa II, Indira Nagar Ward in Zone-7, in which the work was found to be unsatisfactory.
Principal Secretary Urban Development Amrit Abhijat has given strict instructions to all the officers and employees of urban bodies that strict action will be taken against the concerned for negligence and laxity in departmental work and disobeying government orders. Such behavior of any employee will not be accepted. As per the expectations and wishes of Chief Minister, all the employees will have to discharge their official responsibilities and duties faithfully and promptly, so that the people of the state get maximum benefit of the schemes and their problems can be resolved on time.
