Lucknow: Lalit Kala Akademi, the National Academy of Art, is India’s premier institution dedicated to the promotion and development of visual arts. It continuously supports artistic endeavors through workshops, art camps, exhibitions, scholarships, and various other programs, providing encouragement and assistance to artists.
In this context, the Regional Centre of Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, has organized a grand art exhibition showcasing the exceptional works of artists working in different mediums such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic art. This exhibition is being held at the Akademi’s art gallery from January 31 to February 15, 2025.
The inaugural ceremony of the art exhibition took place on January 31, 2025, at 3:30 PM. The chief guest for the event was Uma Nanduri, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, while the distinguished guest was Balakrishna N. Ranjan, Special Secretary and Additional L.R. (Legal Department), Government of Uttar Pradesh. The event was further graced by the presence of Prof. Jayant Khot, Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow; Prof. Kumkum Dhar, Chairperson, Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, Lucknow; Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, Vice-President, Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, Lucknow; Girish Chandra, Vice-President, State Lalit Kala Akademi; Prashant Shukla, Niskrant Sampatti, Revenue Board, Uttar Pradesh; and Vibha Singh, Vice-President, Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi.
During the event, the chief guest, Uma Nanduri, remarked that the displayed artworks beautifully incorporate various art forms, including sculpture, ceramics, painting, and graphic arts, giving them equal prominence. She further noted that the exhibition features the creative and diverse works of approximately 70 artists, offering a glimpse into India’s rich artistic heritage and creative brilliance. She also appreciated the artistic talent and outstanding works of the participating artists while reviewing the exhibition.
The distinguished guest, Balakrishna N. Ranjan, praised the efforts of the National Lalit Kala Akademi in curating this special exhibition and commended the participating artists for their expressive and remarkable artistic contributions.
Dr. Devendra Tripathi, Regional Secretary of the Regional Centre, mentioned that the exhibition features works from renowned senior as well as emerging artists across the country. He expressed gratitude to all artists for bringing their unique visions to the canvas and enriching the exhibition with their artistic endeavors.
The exhibition will remain open for art enthusiasts and the general public for viewing until February 15, 2025.
