Joint Traffic Enforcement Drive Continues in Gonda to Strengthen Road Safety Compliance

Gonda: In an effort to improve road safety and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations, a joint enforcement campaign was conducted across key locations in Gonda district under the guidance of senior administrative and police officials.

The operation was carried out by a combined team comprising the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (Administration), Circle Officer (Traffic), Traffic Inspector Gonda, and other traffic police personnel. The campaign focused on major intersections, including Munnan Khan Chauraha and Guru Nanak Chowk, along with other prominent locations in the district.

The initiative aimed to raise public awareness about traffic rules while taking firm action against motorists violating road safety regulations.

Strict Action Against Traffic Violations

During the enforcement drive, authorities took action against drivers found violating various traffic laws, including riding without helmets, driving without a valid driving licence, operating vehicles without High Security Registration Plates (HSRP), lacking insurance coverage, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

As part of the campaign, 20 two-wheelers involved in serious traffic violations were seized and impounded at the Traffic Police Office in Gonda.

In addition, an ambulance operating without the required documents was also seized. Authorities further impounded two dumpers for operating without HSRP, lacking mandatory reflectors, and using prohibited pressure horns.

100 Vehicles Challaned

Officials reported that a total of 100 vehicles were issued challans for various road safety and traffic-related violations during the campaign.

Motorists were advised to always wear helmets, carry valid driving licences, insurance documents, pollution certificates, and High Security Registration Plates, and to strictly adhere to all traffic regulations.

Officials emphasized that violations of traffic rules are not only punishable under the law but also pose serious risks to the lives of drivers, passengers, and other road users.

Enforcement Drive to Continue

The joint enforcement team stated that such special campaigns will continue on a regular basis to reduce road accidents and promote safer traffic conditions throughout the district.

Residents were urged to act as responsible citizens by following traffic regulations and cooperating with the administration in maintaining a safe, orderly, and efficient transportation system.

The district administration reiterated that sustained enforcement, coupled with public awareness, remains essential for ensuring road safety and preventing avoidable accidents.
