Ahmedabad: Indian Premier League has entered its decisive phase, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India announcing the complete schedule for the playoffs and final of the tournament.
According to Board of Control for Cricket in India Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia, the grand final of IPL 2026 will be played on May 31 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium.
The playoffs will begin with Qualifier 1 on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium, where the top two teams in the league standings will face off. The winner of this high-stakes encounter will secure a direct berth in the IPL 2026 final.
The Eliminator, featuring the teams finishing third and fourth in the points table, will be held on May 27 at the New International Cricket Stadium. The losing side in the Eliminator will be knocked out of the tournament.

Qualifier 2 is scheduled for May 29 at the same venue in New Chandigarh. The match will pit the loser of Qualifier 1 against the winner of the Eliminator, with the victorious team earning the second spot in the final.
The two surviving teams will then clash in the championship showdown in Ahmedabad on May 31, where IPL 2026 will crown its new champion under the lights at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
With several franchises battling fiercely for playoff positions, excitement around the tournament has intensified as fans prepare for another dramatic finish to one of the world’s most popular T20 leagues.
