Why did this tradition start?

It is said that on the day of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Bhole Shankar had performed Gauna of Mother Parvati and brought her to Kashi. Then he had played Holi with Gulal along with everyone, but he could not play Holi with Gulal with ghosts, ghosts and vampires. After this he played Masan Holi with them, since then Chita Bhasma Holi is celebrated.

How do you celebrate this Holi?

Masan Holi is especially celebrated at Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi, which is the famous cremation ground here. Crowds of people start gathering here since morning. Sadhus and Shiva devotees play Holi with pyre ashes after worshiping Shiva and performing havan.
