New Delhi — India’s women’s team and France’s men’s team, both fresh off FIH Hockey Nations Cup titles, will make their return to the FIH Pro Hockey League when the new 2026-27 season begins on December 8, 2026. Meanwhile, India’s men’s team secured its spot for the new season by finishing eighth in the 2025-26 edition of the league. The upcoming season will feature a total of 144 matches, with the world’s top teams battling it out for the title.

The new season will open with matches in Argentina from December 8-13, 2026. The announcement was made by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Wednesday in Lausanne, Switzerland. India will host its leg of the tournament from February 13-28, 2027, featuring matches against Argentina (men), Germany (men), Great Britain, and Spain.

FIH President Tayyab Ikram said the Pro League has consistently showcased the best of world hockey, bringing together elite players representing their national teams. He expressed delight at welcoming back the Indian women’s team and the French men’s team, noting that their return would add even more excitement to the season. Ikram thanked the national hockey federations, players, hosts, commercial partners, broadcasters, and fans for their continued support in making the Pro League a true showcase of the sport’s best talent, and wished all participating teams success in the season ahead.

The season opener in Argentina (December 8-13, 2026) will feature the women’s teams of Argentina and China, along with the men’s teams of Great Britain and France. These opening matches will lay the foundation for what promises to be a fiercely competitive season, where every point will matter in the race for the title.
