I believe in quality over quantity, so I’d rather wait for the right role: Saanvie Tallwar

Mumbai: Saanvie Tallwar, who is currently seen in web series Khamosh Aahatein and who was seen in Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, knows what she wants from a role before she says yes to it. The script comes first. Everything else follows.

She said, “For me, the most important factors are the script and the character. I look for roles that have depth, challenge me as an actor, and contribute to a meaningful story. I believe in quality over quantity, so I’d rather wait for the right role than say yes to something just for the sake of working.”

Comedy found her without her chasing it. She said, “I got the opportunity to explore comedy in Chandranandini through my character, Durdhara. She wasn’t written as a comic character, but I’m a director’s actor, and I played her the way my director envisioned. Her innocence naturally brought out the humour, and audiences really connected with it. I’m truly grateful for that opportunity because it became one of the most loved aspects of the character.”

For actors looking to break out of a mould, Saanvie keeps it simple. She said, “I think the key is to keep working on your craft, never limit yourself, and keep auditioning for different kinds of roles. Sometimes, all it takes is one opportunity to break a stereotype.”

On experimental films that don’t always find commercial success, she doesn’t measure value in numbers. She said, “I think every story finds its own audience. Not every meaningful or experimental film becomes a commercial success, but that doesn’t make it any less valuable. As an actor, I believe good stories should be told because they have the power to inspire, start conversations, and leave a lasting impact.”

Her personal taste in films runs in the opposite direction of what most people reach for. She said, “I actually love watching horror, psychological thrillers, and emotionally intense films.”

“I enjoy stories that keep me completely engaged, hooked, and constantly wondering, what happens next? Those are the kind of films that keep my heart racing and stay with me long after they’re over,” Saanvie ended.
