Mumbai: Actress Chaitali Kohli, who worked with veteran actor Ramakant Dayama in the Netflix film Crew, remembered him fondly after his passing yesterday. Known for his memorable performances in films and shows like Chak De! India, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, Paa, Ram Setu, and Farzi, Ramakant Dayama had built a reputation for bringing warmth and authenticity to every role he portrayed.
Sharing heartfelt memories from their time together, Chaitali spoke about his positivity and the impact he left on everyone around him. Recalling her experience of working with him, she said, “He was a brilliant actor with a tremendous presence of mind. There were no filters with him, and he was always high on energy.”
According to Chaitali, Ramakant Dayama carried a vibrant spirit that instantly lifted the atmosphere on set. Talking about him as a co-actor and person, she described him as someone who genuinely cared for the people around him. “He was fun to work with and always contributed in helping his co-stars perform better. He was also a very loving person,” she shared.
One of the memories she cherishes the most is when the veteran actor came to support her theatre performance. “He even came to watch my Marathi play. He gave us so much love and encouragement. That gesture meant a lot to me,” she added.
For Chaitali, the lessons she learned from him went beyond acting. “The most valuable thing I learned from him was to just be yourself, stay positive, and enjoy your life,” she said.
Remembering his contribution to the industry, the actress said his legacy would continue through the positivity he spread among people. “I would always remember him as an actor who constantly contributed positivity to everyone’s life,” she concluded.
