Gonda: An agricultural input subsidy and disaster relief assistance distribution programme was organised at the District Panchayat auditorium in Gonda through a live broadcast of the Chief Minister’s programme. The initiative aimed to support farmers affected by natural disasters and promote agricultural production by providing assistance and improved seeds for the upcoming sowing season.
During the programme, symbolic demo cheques representing disaster relief assistance were distributed to more than 120 farmers in Gonda Sadar tehsil. The Agriculture Department also distributed seed mini-kits containing gram, lentil, pea, mustard and other crop seeds to more than 35 farmers in the tehsil.
Mehnaun MLA Vinay Kumar Dwivedi, Gonda Sadar MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan and Additional District Magistrate Pramod Jha distributed the demo cheques and seed mini-kits. They emphasised the effective implementation of welfare schemes and the importance of ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive government assistance.
Similar agricultural input subsidy and disaster relief distribution programmes were organised across all tehsils of Gonda district. The initiatives sought to provide support to farmers affected by natural calamities, help them continue agricultural activities and encourage cultivation through the distribution of seed mini-kits.
The programmes also aimed to familiarise farmers with government schemes related to agriculture and disaster relief and raise awareness about the assistance available to them. The district administration and concerned departments are coordinating efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and ensure that eligible farmers benefit from these initiatives.
Other officials present included Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jitendra Gautam, Sadar Tehsildar Manish Kumar, Deputy Director Agriculture Santosh Kumar Dwivedi, District Agriculture Officer Chandra Prakash Singh and District Disaster Expert Rajesh Srivastava, along with officials from various departments.
