Gonda: District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan inspected flood-affected Nakhara village and the Gaura Singhanapur flood relief post in Colonelganj tehsil on Monday to assess the ground situation and review the administration’s preparedness to deal with the flood situation.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate interacted with residents and sought details about their problems, immediate requirements and the difficulties being faced due to the flooding. She assured villagers that the administration was closely monitoring the situation and would take prompt action to address their concerns.
Niranjan directed all concerned officials and field personnel to remain continuously present in flood-affected areas and maintain close surveillance of the situation. She stressed that any problem reported from the affected villages should be taken up immediately and necessary arrangements made without delay.
The District Magistrate instructed officials to keep all relief and rescue arrangements fully prepared so that assistance could reach affected residents promptly if the situation worsens. She specifically directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Colonelganj, Executive Engineer of the Flood Division, district disaster management officials and other concerned personnel to conduct regular field visits.
Officials were asked to continuously monitor water levels and other developments in vulnerable areas and immediately inform senior authorities about any emergency so that timely and effective action could be taken.

The District Magistrate also directed departments to work in close coordination and ensure the availability of essential services, including healthcare, veterinary assistance, irrigation support, disaster management and other necessary facilities in the affected areas.
Emphasising that there should be no negligence in dealing with the flood situation, Niranjan instructed officials to give priority to residents’ grievances and ensure their speedy resolution. She also ordered that all resources required for relief and rescue operations be kept ready in view of the possibility of further flooding.
The District Magistrate told villagers that the administration remained fully committed to providing necessary assistance and essential facilities in the affected areas and would continue to monitor the situation closely.
Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Chief Medical Officer Dr Santlal Patel, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Colonelganj, Executive Engineer of the Flood Division, District Veterinary Officer, District Disaster Management Expert and officials and personnel from other concerned departments were present during the inspection.
