Genesis International, established in 1995 and employing over 2,000 professionals, provided hands-on training to the students, showcasing GIS applications and offering internships to deserving candidates based on HR and technical assessments. Rohit Garg, Senior GIS Technical Manager at Genesis International, delivered a motivational address assuring students of future employment opportunities based on merit.
Workshop Sessions
In the inaugural session, students presented on GIS applications in agriculture, urban planning, disaster management, environmental protection, and land record modernization. Their presentations underscored GIS’s critical role in improving decision-making and efficiency across these domains.
The second session focused on the ongoing “Digitization of Khasra Maps” project, where participants were awarded internship stipends in collaboration with Aeronics Consultancies Pvt. Ltd. Garg applauded the students’ efforts and encouraged them to delve deeper into geospatial studies.

The workshop was graced by notable guests, including Ujjwal Raman Singh, Manager of National PG College, and Prof. Devendra Kumar Singh, Principal of the college. The event was conducted under the guidance of Head of Department Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh and Coordinators Dr. Ritu Jain, Dr. Amit Kumar Gupta, and Dr. Abhishek Kumar Singh.

Three Students Selected for Kumbh Fellowship Programme
In a remarkable achievement, three students from National PG College’s Geography Department—Abhiman Singh, Aditya Sharma, and Priyanshu Chaurasia—have been selected for the prestigious Kumbh Fellowship Programme for Mahakumbh 2025. Conducted by Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), the national-level examination saw the selection of 53 fellows who will work on a six-month contract starting November 21, 2024.
This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the planning and management of Mahakumbh 2025, blending academic insights with real-world challenges.
