Free Heart Health Camp Benefits 145 Residents in Khargupur

Gonda: A large free heart health screening camp was organised in Khargupur Nagar Panchayat through a joint initiative of Hind Medical College and Hind Hospital, with support from Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Mamta Rastogi and former Chairperson Rajiv (Raju) Rastogi. The camp witnessed an encouraging public response, providing specialised cardiac consultations and preventive healthcare services to local residents.

A team of senior cardiologists, including Dr Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Dr Sharad Srivastava and Dr Rahul Verma, examined 145 patients during the camp. Participants received free electrocardiogram (ECG) tests, blood pressure and blood sugar screening, along with personalised consultations and advice on heart health.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Pankaj Kumar Srivastava emphasised that heart disease is closely linked to lifestyle choices rather than being solely a medical condition. He highlighted stress, unhealthy eating habits and physical inactivity as major risk factors and urged people to adopt healthier lifestyles. He noted that timely diagnosis and expert medical guidance can significantly reduce the severity of cardiovascular diseases.

Dr Rahul Verma said that changing lifestyles, unhealthy diets and rising stress levels have contributed to a growing incidence of heart ailments. He encouraged people to undergo regular cardiac check-ups and follow preventive measures to minimise health risks.

Dr Sharad Srivastava advised residents to maintain a balanced diet, avoid oily and junk food, consume more fruits and green vegetables, and engage in at least 30 minutes of walking or yoga every day to promote cardiovascular wellness.

Former Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Rajiv Rastogi, the chief guest, described such free medical camps as an important initiative for improving access to specialist healthcare, particularly for people living in rural and remote areas. Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Mamta Rastogi appreciated the organisers and expressed hope that similar camps would continue to be held regularly for the benefit of the community.

The event also featured awareness sessions on preventive heart care and healthy living. The successful organisation of the camp was supported by Hind Hospital team members Raghvendra Dwivedi, Ravi Ali, Ekansh, Kamni Singh, Harishankar Tiwari, Shaif, Basant Srivastava, Ashish Srivastava and hospital PRO Pankaj Sinha.
