Lucknow: Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh attended the 4th ‘Uttar Pradesh Spices Conference and Expo – 2024’ organized at Udyan Bhawan, Sapru Marg, Lucknow as the Chief Guest. He also visited the exhibition organized by farmers and companies.
India is the largest exporter of spices and spice items. In Uttar Pradesh, 2.91 lakh metric tonnes of spices are produced in an area of about 85 thousand hectares, in which chilli, garlic, turmeric, ginger, coriander etc. are prominent.
Steps taken by the Horticulture Department to promote the spice industry by providing incentives and organizing training programs in the field of spices and processing to increase the income of farmers and open new markets and opportunities for them were also discussed.
Leeds Connect, SIDBI, Goldie Masala, RL Masala, State Bank of India, Wolverine Foods, Imago, Govind Industries, UPKVIB, Baya Pickle companies also participated in the Spices Conference.
On this occasion, B.L. Meena, Additional Chief Secretary, Horticulture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Anil Pareek – Co-founder and Director, Leads Connect, V.B. Dwivedi- Director, Horticulture and Food Processing, UP, Mukesh Bahadur Singh – Chairman ICFA Uttar Pradesh Council, Arindam Roy – Executive Director C.A.R.D. and officials of the Horticulture Department were present.
