Eight Arrested in Gadhmukteshwar for Electricity Wire Theft

Gadhmukteshwar/Hapur: In a major breakthrough, the Gadhmukteshwar Police have busted a gang involved in electricity wire theft and arrested eight suspects during a routine check. The authorities recovered 36 quintals of stolen electrical wires, two cable cutters, illegal weapons, and two Mahindra pickup trucks used in the crime.

According to the police, the arrested individuals are hardened criminals responsible for several cases of electrical equipment and wire thefts in Hapur and surrounding districts. They have multiple cases registered against them under theft, the Electricity Act, the Gangster Act, and the Arms Act in both Hapur and Amroha districts.

The arrests were made as part of an ongoing campaign by Hapur Police to curb crime and apprehend wanted criminals involved in electricity wire theft. The suspects were caught near the cut leading from Syana Road to Bagadpur village.

Arrested Individuals:

  1. Sarjeet, son of Kalwa, resident of Gangacholi village, Hasanpur, Amroha.
  2. Surendra, son of Madan, resident of Gangacholi village, Hasanpur, Amroha.
  3. Subhash, son of Jaipal, resident of Gangacholi village, Hasanpur, Amroha.
  4. Karan, son of Shyam Singh, resident of Double Story Flat No. 46/224, New Seelampur, Delhi.
  5. Rohit, son of Rajendra, resident of Gangacholi village, Hasanpur, Amroha.
  6. Sumit, son of Charan Singh, resident of Gangacholi village, Hasanpur, Amroha.
  7. Ravindra, son of Kishore, resident of Gangacholi village, Hasanpur, Amroha.
  8. Zeeshan, son of Salim, resident of Jhuggi No. E-14, Block G, New Seelampur, Delhi.

Wanted Accused:

  • Rahil, son of an unknown individual, resident of K-414, New Seelampur, Delhi (Scrap dealer).

Seized Items:

  • 36 quintals of stolen electricity wire.
  • One illegal firearm with one live 315-bore cartridge.
  • Two cable cutters.
  • Two Mahindra pickup trucks (Reg. No. DL1LAF 5558 & UP14PT 1196).

The police have initiated further legal proceedings against the accused, and efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding suspect.
