Before travelling, book a taxi for yourself by talking to a travel agent of a good company. If you are taking a sharing taxi using apps like Uber or Ola, double-check the driver’s vehicle details and verify the driver’s name before getting into the car.

Do not travel wearing expensive jewellery.

Nowadays, traveling wearing expensive, gaudy jewelery is nothing less than getting yourself into trouble. If you are planning to travel to crowded areas, leave all your valuables at home before you travel.

Stay away from drugs-

Every person traveling should keep this in mind. Stay away from intoxication during travel. Often people become excessively intoxicated while enjoying nightlife. Due to which you can become a victim of not only an accident but also incidents like theft.

Be careful about money-

Never carry large amounts of cash with you while travelling. If for some reason you have to withdraw a large amount of cash at once while traveling, leave a large portion of it in the safe of your hotel or hostel. Carry only as much cash as you need for the day. Apart from this, never keep all your money in one place. Keep cash and credit cards in two or three different places so that even if any of your items are stolen, you are not left completely empty handed.

Even before you reach your destination, be sure to check the emergency service numbers for your destination. It’s also a good idea to check the number of the nearest embassy to your country before traveling to another country. Write these numbers down somewhere or save them in your phone so that in case of an emergency, you can call these numbers for help.
