Lucknow: A Digital India State Consultation Workshop was organised by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Ltd. (UPDESCO) in Lucknow on November 25, 2024
Officials from the Uttar Pradesh government participated in the workshop which was inaugurated by Anil Kumar Sagar, IAS, Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Neha Jain, IAS, Special Secretary, IT & Electronics, and State Coordinator, Centre for e-Governance, Uttar Pradesh. J L Gupta, Director, NeGD; MeitY, Shri Hemant Arora, Senior Director (IT), NIC; Raees Akhtar, SP (Technical Services), and Lt. Col. (Dr.) Praveen Kumar Singh, Director, UIDAI also graced the event.
In the keynote address, Anil Kumar Sagar, IAS, Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh emphasized upon the significance of data and digital infrastructure and called out to the State to leverage connectivity and collaborate to achieve digital penetration to the last mile. Neha Jain, IAS, Special Secretary, IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh expressed that the workshop was unique as it was participated not only by officials from the State but also from e-District Managers, collaboratively striving for good governance.
The workshop focused on various national initiatives launched by NeGD under the Government’s flagship Digital India Programme such as DigiLocker, Entity Locker, API Setu, OpenForge, myScheme, UMANG, UX4G among others. Important verticals like Cyber Security and Capacity Building were also discussed. The State led discussions on CM Helpline (1076) & IGRS, UIDAI Ecosystem and Aadhaar Authentication Services.
Post key presentations, an open discussion was held between the officials of MeitY and the Government of Uttar Pradesh to deliberate on the challenges and issues being faced in implementation of e-Gov projects in the state, receive suggestions and feedback for resolving such matters.
These workshops are being conducted as part of a series of consultation workshops organized by NeGD, MeitY in collaboration with States/UTs with the objective to inter alia raise awareness about the key projects under Digital India Programme, identify opportunities for State IT projects for using Digital India platforms, recognize successful projects for replication, facilitate exchange of ideas, knowledge sharing, and industry partnerships.
