Gonda: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Devipatan Range, Gonda, Ashok Kumar, held a detailed review meeting on August 1, 2026, aimed at getting long-wanted criminals with bounties on their heads finally arrested. The meeting was conducted virtually, over Google Meet, and brought together the station in-charges of every police station in the range with a wanted, rewarded criminal still at large, along with the district’s Superintendents of Police, Additional SPs and the concerned Circle Officers.
Going station by station, the DIG asked officers to walk him through where each case actually stood — the criminal’s history, what he’s believed to be doing now, where he might be hiding, what’s already been tried to catch him, and what the plan is going forward. He made it clear that arresting these criminals needs to be treated as a priority, and told officers to build out a proper strategy for each case — pulling in every technical and other resource available, and coordinating across districts and, where needed, across borders — to get quick, effective action moving.
Officers on the call assured the DIG that they would launch focused operations in their respective station areas and do everything possible to get these arrests made within a month, promising to deliver results.
